During the PhD

Young researchers' associations

CJC, the BIOTechno network, ADCIFRE SHS: the national associations that defend and promote the PhD.

Confédération des jeunes chercheurs (CJC)

  • A national, multidisciplinary non-profit, the CJC brings together associations of PhD candidates and doctors working to promote the PhD and its recognition as professional experience.
  • Nationally, it is a key contact for public authorities (government, Parliament, CNESER…) and for any organisation wishing to discuss these issues.
  • At European level, it contributes to the debate on the PhD through the Eurodoc federation, of which it is a founding member.

Some CJC resources (in French): the PhD under the microscope, the doctoral contract, FAQ for international PhD candidates.

The BIOTechno network

  • The BIOTechno network of young life-science researchers federates associations of PhD candidates and doctors in biotechnology across France.
  • It aims to promote doctoral training and improve the employability of young graduates, whether they create knowledge (research), share it (teaching) or innovate (start-ups).
  • It works with ministries, companies and public research bodies, and organises the BIOTechno Days in several major cities to showcase careers in the sector.

AJC06 is a member of the network. BIOTechno network website

ADCIFRE SHS

The association of PhD candidates and doctors on CIFRE agreements in the humanities and social sciences, founded in June 2014, is:

  • an independent, collaborative space to reflect on the practical and scientific issues of CIFRE status in the humanities and social sciences;
  • a forum for debate between researchers, laboratories and institutions on research in these fields, including research funded by its own field;
  • an association open to all young researchers (master’s students, PhD candidates, doctors) who want to join this collective reflection.
