AJC06 at the Nice Science Festival – 2025

Once again this year, AJC06 took part in the Science Festival organised by Université Côte d’Azur and its partners. The event brought researchers, students and the general public together around a shared goal: sharing the scientific method and sparking critical thinking.

Understanding how scientific knowledge is built

On our stand, visitors could explore and discuss several playful teaching materials:

  • a poster on how knowledge is built, tracing the steps of the scientific process, from formulating a hypothesis to publishing results;
  • a pyramid of evidence, explaining the hierarchy of sources and how researchers assess how reliable knowledge is;
  • a poster on the difference between a journalist’s work and a researcher’s, to understand how information travels and changes between academia and the media;
  • a game showing the diversity of scientific disciplines, from history to physics by way of anthropology.

These tools sparked many conversations with school groups and families who came to explore science in all its forms.

We are happy to share the resources we used, for anyone who may find them useful.

Promoting research and young researchers

As an association of PhD candidates and early-career researchers, AJC06 is committed to making research accessible and showcasing the diversity of disciplines at Université Côte d’Azur. Taking part in the Science Festival is also a chance for us to show what the job of a researcher really looks like, something often little known, and to remind everyone that science is above all a collective, rigorous adventure that is open to society.
