PhD Meet-Up – Discovering disability and disability sport with AJC06
Spend an immersive afternoon discovering disability and disability sport, through hands-on activities and inspiring conversations! This meet-up invites you to take on challenges and meet inspiring people who have made pushing their limits part of everyday life.
During these 3 hours of interactive workshops, you can choose from the following activities:
Disability sport workshops:
- Torball: try this ball sport with an audible ball, designed for visually impaired people, in a gym, and live an immersive experience.
- Tandem cycling: discover tandem cycling while visually impaired.
- Blind running: test your trust and coordination in a guided run.
Disability workshops:
- White cane course: experience the daily life of a blind person on a guided course.
- Introduction to Braille and daily life: get to know Braille and the everyday challenges faced by blind people.
- An inspiring encounter: talk with Patrice Baraterro, 2014 Paralympic athlete, and discover leg prostheses designed for elite sport.
